Smooth roads don’t make good drivers.

Never raise your children in comfort and expect them to grow to be strong. Because smooth roads never make good drivers. A man has to undergo the hardships of life to learn the meaning and value of life.

The founder of Dubai once said something in an interview that shook the entire room.

Sheikh Rashid, the man who built Dubai from nothing but sand, was once asked a simple question: What do you see in the future of your country?

He paused, and then he said something no one in that room ever forgot.

He said, “My grandfather rode a camel. My father rode a camel. I drive a Mercedes. My son drives a Land Rover, and my grandson will drive a Land Rover too,
But my great-grandson- he will ride a camel again!

Now, the interviewer was confused. He asked why, and Sheikh Rashid looked at him and delivered one of the most powerful truths ever spoken.

He said,

“Hard times create strong men.

Strong men create easy times.

Easy times create weak men,

and weak men create hard times! “

That is not a quote, this is a warning.

Imagine this:

You work day and night. You sacrifice everything.

You build something from nothing, so your children never have to struggle the way you did.

And what happens?

They grow up never knowing what hunger feels like.

They never know what it means to be told “no”.

They never know what it feels like to have nothing and still keep going.

So they become soft, not because they are bad people, but because you removed the very thing that made you strong.

You handed them comfort, and comfort, is the most dangerous inheritance you can leave behind

A wise father understands this. Perhaps he could give his son everything, but he will have one rule that will be never broken.

You will earn your place under his roof. No one in this family is given what they did not build.

He would say, I am not raising a son who inherits wealth. I am raising a son who inherits strength, because wealth without strength disappears in one generation

You can see it everywhere. The mightiest empires in history, the Persians, the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, the British, they did not fall because of enemies. They fell because they became comfortable. They weakened from the inside. Comfort killed them.

So the next time you think the greatest gift you can give your children is an easy life, stop, because you are not protecting them. You are destroying the very thing that will keep them alive when you are gone.
